Hi Sim,
I thought this would be the easiest way to share with you our "exploration" of potential places where to take pictures the day of the wedding. These are not final at all, it was just more of a way to show you what we were thinking, but we are definitely looking for your input, you can probably see interesting poses, angles, etc. way better than us.
So here it is. We think we want a couple of pictures in the Parc Maisonneuve. It's close to our home, it's close to our heart, and we think there might some good pictures to be taken.
These are not actually taken in Parc Maisonneuve, but in a little grass patch across the street from it, with the Olympic Stadium in the background. I tried to get a little closer, a little further, see what it could look like.
Since Marilou and I will see each other before the wedding, we wanted to have something special for the first time I will see her. We are still open to ideas, so if you have some, feel free to suggest. But one of the ideas we had was to be on each side of a bunch of trees, or bush, or hedge, and not see each other, and have picture from the from where you see both, but we can't see each other. We could have the men walking on one side and the women on the other, or just Marilou and me, etc. So as we walked in the park, we tried to fine bushes that could do it. Here are some things we found.
Another thing we wanted was to have picture in a cycle path that is near our place. However, to avoid having to change location for picture, we figured we could do it in the park instead! So we would probably want pictures in our runners, and with Bixi's (the rental bikes). So we didn't exactly know what would look best, like do we want the painted signs in the path (see pictures)? Maybe not in the center, but visible behind us on the path? Or not at all?
Here is a spot where we see the Stadium from inside the park. It's a little far, so I don't know exactly if this can be a good spot. We took picture from further and got closer, figuring you would be able to see if it makes sense or not.
A cute litle path right there:
This little path leads to a bench where something nice could maybe be done, you see us from behind, the bench, the park and the Stadium:
A random big tree, on which we could sit, or stand by... I don't know if there's something cool to do with this, but we're throwing it out there!
It might be hard to see on the picture, but here it's kind of a slope, people sometimes lay in the grass. So we don't have any specific ideas, you might, it's a nice spot, there are those chairs too... I don't know!
There is a little place right by our home that we always go through when we run. It's just a little path between trees but we call it "Le Chemin des Amoureux" (Lovers' Path). So we would like to take a few pictures there maybe. I tried to take a few from both ends of the little path, to give you an idea, but you're likely to have way better ideas on how to frame this.
We wanted to take pictures with graffitis. We have this bridge not too far that we thought of, but we're really not sure what would give good picture there... Maybe in black & white so that the graffiti colors don't clash so much...? We don't know... So we tried to take a couple of pictures just so you can have a mental picture of the setup, and maybe come up with good ideas! But it looks tricky, we're not sure if it's a good spot...
And here is another graffiti on a building right next to the little bridge.
So that's pretty much it! Like we said, this is more of an exploration, maybe it will give you ideas, so feel free to give feedback, we're really looking forward to your input!
Thanks a lot!
Martin & Marilou
